There is a house.
Around it is a white picket-fence.
Tattered, torn, and broken.
The gate hangs from a single hinge.
The path to the house is cobblestone.
Uneven, lumpy, cracked.
Everything in the yard is dead.
Dry, drooping, lifeless.
The door is heavy oak.
It is open just a crack.
From the outside the house has windows.
They are mostly broken or boarded up.
From the inside you cannot see out.
On the walls there are bugs.
They are dead and framed.
Every room has six doors.
Every room looks exactly the same.
I become lost. Hopelessly lost.
Eventually i find a winding staircase.
it leads to a tall tower.
I fall through the

The stars shine bright in the ever-darkening sky.
There is a bonfire.
There is music.
Happy music.
Joyful, carefree, digereedoo music.
There are patchwork quilts spread all over the ground,
covering the knee-high grass.
There are people too.
Dancing.
They wear brightly colored clothes
and bells around their ankles.
They sing, and clap, and laugh, and dance.
Like one big happy family.
There are train tracks.
Nobody seems to notice them.
In the midst of an endless sea of grass.
Where do they come froem?
Where do they go?
Nobody sees the train coming.
It rushes past.
And when it is gone,
so are the people.
I am alone.

Shovels strike the earth,
chiming through the silence.
Six feet deep.
Six feet closer to Hell.
People crowding around my grave,
pretending to be sad.
Dressed in their sunday best.
Cold, still, silent.
They're more dead than I am.
I look up at the cloudy sky.
The clouds don't move.
There is no wind.
I am not old.
I am not sick.
I don't know why I died.
The casket lid closes, hard.
Darkness.
Dirt falls in around me.
Alone. So alone.
I know I'm not asleep.
But I can't possibly be awake.
Someone made a mistake.
I'm not supposed to be burried.
The mutterings of a priest.
The mumblings of a prayer.
